If I wanted to keep my truck for ever, regarding the trans, and regardless of mileage, I’d begin servicing my trans every 50-60k, using an appropriate fluid that YOU feel comfortable with.
I want to keep this truck forever. So, I should spend the extra money? It's another $300-$400 for the big services.
So this is all very subjective, as everyone has their own opinions, based on their/my experience and research on oils and intervals for all the components (Trans,Eng, Diffs, Xfer, Cooling). You have to use the fluids and intervals that YOU are comfortable with. In my opinion, I'd be changing the trans fluid every 50k, using a fluid that YOU are comfortable with. I purchased a 05 RR with 50K. Changed the Trans Fluid and filter at 60K, then did a drain and refill at 70, and 90K until the fluid came out somewhat clear. Then I continued every 50K. At over 200K now. I bought an X5 for my daughter with 200K, changed the trans and fluid at 200K then did another drain and refill a couple thousand miles later. I've done this process with several high mileage cars (well over 100K) on "Sealed for Life Trans" with never any problems, and in one case it actually corrected a reverse gear problem. The one thing I do not like to do is a TRANS FLUSH on higher mileage trans, I accomplish something similar by doing a Fluid/Fliter, then a drain refill server times at 10k intervals afterwards until the fluid comes out somewhat translucent.
Regarding my wife's LR4, I'll be letting the dealer to the BG Flush at 45K, then every 30K afterwards per the BG schedule as they (BG) will then provide a partial warranty on the trans, and I feel comfortable with that.
All the other cars I own (L322, MB E320, X5 E53, E46, D90) ALL GET AMSOIL Trans Fluid, and it's worked fine for over 100K miles in some of them, contrary to others opinions on generic fluid type.
Do your research, ask a lot of questions, (that's what I do) and then form your own opinion with what you are comfortable with, then move on....I really didn't know anything about BG until recently, but after much recent research I am good with using their products in the LR4.
