Did getting the mecktronic unit down give you any issues? Mine seems to be hung up on one corner( there the white plastic release clip is)

Did you take the electrical sleeve out? That will hang it up...definitely need to remove that

I thought unplugging it would be fine but trying to get the sleeve out now.....piece by piece. Tried prying with a screw driver but it cracked so working in figuring out plan B

Correct. The sleeve must come out before the mechatronic comes down.

I did it correctly by chance on disassembly, but screwed up the order on re-assembly.

Ended up boogering up my new sleeve, so I swapped the new O-rings onto the old one and reinstalled. So far, no leaks.

That sleeve took a good bit of patience to get out when laying on the floor in my garage. I think it would have been much easier on a lift.

I used about a 4 foot long Snap-on pry bar with an angled head.

Make sure your release is all the way down. Mine cracked too. It will drop another 1/8 of an inch...

After that, I took a vice grip pliers and clamped on to the sleeve then used a long screw driver to pop it out. It should not take a ton of force.

alright I'm almost to the finish line but reinstalling the sleeve is giving me quite the headache. I saw that you have to apply force to the sleeve when closing the white tab. I just have a fear of cracking the new sleeve. its installed correctly(tab straight down) and appears to be all the way in but I still cannot get the tab to lock it in place. any advice?

I couldn't do it by myself.

I had to apply inward pressure to the sleeve while my helper snapped the locking tab back into place.

Got a wife handy???

Nice work! I used my hand to push in while pushing up on the white tab. That tab sticks a bit but jiggle it and it should go up without a ton of force. You just need to apply enough pressure to get the locking mechanism to slide over. Mine almost didn’t need any pressure on the sleeve to lock it in.

Updates? Curious if you got it all done? If so, how’s it driving?

Sorry for the late update, yes got everything finished. Static filled 3 quarts then 2 more after cycling through the gears. Drove it around my neighborhood and it shifts like brand new! I got nervous it wasn’t downshifting but everything is perfect, it’s just so smooth you can’t feel it. Rechecking the level this morning because I really feel like it should have taken more fluid but it was too hot to check after the drive last night.no faults or check engine lights.

Thanks for everyone’s help. It’s nice being reassured you’re doing it right by people who have done it before! These forums are GREAT
