Just got some 18" rims to replace the 19" rims that came on my 06 HSE. I run the Firestone Destination AT on all my other vehicles...F150, Bronco, Excursion and even my daughters Honda Element...so the LR3 fgot a set of 265 65 R18. They are a quiet, long lasting tire that is awesome on-road and in the rain. Being in GA, we don't worry about that snow bologna...although we've had no issues on trips to Illinois in the snow. The tires also do good on the southern clay we get to play on down here...well, as good as any other AT we've tried. I've had Yoko's, Hankook, Bridgestone, and Michelin...these are better than any of those. I usually get 50-60k out of a set, with rotations every 5-7.5k. Anyway, they fit well and look good...no rubbing whatsoever on stock set-up. Load rating is 112 standard and speed is S...We don't tow with the LR3 and we don't race it either. I feel good with the ratings for our use. Enjoy the pics.

Try reverse at full clock in access height and see if they rub a hair. Most 265/65/18 do, but it can depend on the specific tire. I ended up going with 265/60/18 tires because I back into my driveway everyday and often have it in access height as I back in so I can better let dogs/mother-in-law out. I did not want to deal with rub, nor deal with a deflated spare tire. Since you have an HSE, you would have had a full-size spare - what did you do there? Deflate it to make it fit?

They look good though, that is the ideal size for an LR3 aesthetics-wise

Yea, we don't need access height for anything. It goes in the garage no problem and the wife is used to crawling in and out of the jacked up Excursion, so the LR3 is a piece of cake! Was originally looking for the 265 60 R18, but the load rating on the Firestone AT's was only 109 in that size.

I'll test the access height though and report back.

I haven't posted on here for a while, I don't have problems with rubbing in access height. The tires I run are no longer made and I have been looking at the Destination ATs for a while. I would be running them but these tires were better priced. I bought five but have never been able to fit #5 under the vehicle. My car came with the 18" rims and don't remember where I bought #5. Maybe I got around the rub with the wheel spacers?

Gov na - I got them off Ebay, paid $500 for all 5.

Bad Bonez - I love the Firestone AT's, run them on everything I own. I fit the spare in with no issues.

Actually, not a single HSE lr3 ever came with a full size spare by default. It's only there if it was specifically ordered such as it is included in the HD package. Additionally, seeing a full size under an lr3 does not necessarily mean it has the HD package, it only means the spare was added by someone.

That size also works fine fully inflated in most brands especially if you remove the fiber shield. Some brands have to be sorta stuffed up in slowly but without the shield they go right in easily.

The only real rubbing that should occur, and it is highly likely to occur, is against the wiring loom along driver side lower frame member just rear of the controls arms and where the height sensor mounts. People gather a little slack by disconnecting other spots and then remount it up higher. It doesn't actually take much distance. I think mine was initially done by simply flipping the little plastic bracket upside down then attaching stuff again.

The frame horn shouldn't really rub, not much anyway. If so I guess you could just not backup often in full lock while also in access height ;)

Wheel spacers would make ALL rub points WORSE on an lr3 except for the wiring loom I mentioned above.

Sometimes the heat shield at spare location is simply bent a bit too much into spare zone as it's on metal brackets. Most people just remove it if bending them a little doesn't work. It'll rip off on any close grounding there anyway.

Different brands are actually different actual sizes. For example I have a BFG at ko2 and a Michelin MS2 both in same sie but the Michelin not only looks a lot bigger, it also measures taller and wider section but the same tread width. The bfg is more 'square' while the MS2 is rounder like a doughnut, and also taller to be an exact 32.1" with the BFG more like 31.7.

When the difference b/n rub vs no rub is 1/8", that makes one of those rub and the other not ;)

ebay but if i were you i'd want original condition, no painting or reconditioning. I'd much rather have a ****** looking wheel I can see is clear of cracks or repairs vs a pretty wheel hiding who knows what history....
