I installed a Atlantic British Trailer wiring kit. (Which was nicely made) and a REESE Towpower 8507111 Brakeman IV Digital Brake Control, Small Compact Design this weekend. Ran into a major issue with the controller. I read on here that the controller keeps power withn the truck off so I wanted to see. My truck was off and the key was out of the ignition when I pressed in the brake lever on the controller...(enter nightmare music)

My lights on the dash came on like it was in Acc mode with the key. So, Curious as to why I did it again. This time I saw a fault code for the brakes (didn't catch the code) But what happened next is the important part. My key was locked out of the cylinder. As in I could not turn the vechile on. So I tried to engage the contoller again and turn the key over but got nothing. It wasn't till I locked and unlocked my truck that the key finally turned over. No codes came up after this and I'm afraid to try anything else until I did some research. I found nothing. It's all plug and play so what gives?

Abu idea as to your charging system and battery status?
I mention this because LR3s are notorious for throwing fits and spewing hatred when there's a parasitic electrical load and a poor charging system or battery.
