these Atturos look like they'd be pretty horrendous on the highway. Any feedback? I imagine at some point you'd have to get on paved road with these...

Ricker gave some good feedback on his post on page 1

They are pretty noisy on the highway but I have gotten used to it. They are still much quieter than my 1970 Series 2A! :) They also wander slightly, but that is to be expected from an MT tire. If you are concerned about the noise, the Cooper Zeon LTZ AT tire is a great compromise. It is fairly quiet on the road and works well in most off road conditions.

All,
I have finally found a MUD tyre that fits the stock 19 inch wheels.

255/55-19 ATTURO TRAIL BLADE MT 55R R19 TIRES

My question is, Has anyone fitted these to a LR4 19 inch wheel in the last year since they fixed their issues? If so i have a few questions.

1. Did you find any rubbing?
2. I understand these will be noisier but are they as noisy as the roof rack? lol
3. how is the wear with the LR4?
4. Do you rotate them every 6K?
5. How are they in snow on the road? Does the rubber become hard like a puck?
6. How are they when Towing?
I don't have experience with the Atturo tires, but I put the Wrangler Duratrac on in 255/55R19 size and they are substantially noisier than any other tires I've had, but you eventually get used to it. The difference off road compared to even a tire like the old Pirelli Scorpion ATR or Continental TerrainContact is huge. In the stock size you aren't going to have any problem with any tire rubbing. If I could find a 265 or 275 width I would jump on it, but the 19" size is what really limits us on our choices.

I agree with Fields Carlisle. I’ve got the 255-55-r19 duratrac on my LR 4 and they are quite noisy on the highway( nothing unbearable and it’s more like a lower pitch rumble) but these tires are GREAT on and off road. So far I’ve put around 37,000 miles on mine( had them installed at 136,000 and currently have 173,000) I took a picture with today’s date for proof that it was taken today. Tires are still at 75% I’ve done almost all highway but mixed in is probably 5-6k towing in the mountains and lots of sand, mud, and rocks. Slightly more expensive than other tire options but in my opinion WELL worth it because they hold up so well

*** is "Atturo" ? I will never understand people who spend $$$$ on a vehicle but then skimp pennies on something as important as a tire when it's so simple to choose high quality providing nearly zero worries.

A 19" so called 'MT' is a complete joke on the buyer, almost as pointless as a 20" wheel with 31" tire.

Just put a decent highway all-arounder on the 19's, and have an 18" set for the rough trips. I've actually used my Michelin MS2 on "moderate ot hard" rated trails aired down in some wet and they were way better than I expected. They're E load though too of course but the point is that all this crap about 19" MT and noisy as hell and terrible highway traction is for no good reason.

Most people don't need as much tread traction as they think they do but the tire carcass is what's more important and sidewall. Snow tires or commuter tires are for 19", everything else should be the 18" and at least 265/65-18.

There's no comparison on a 19" of any type made to running a 32" E load range proper tire at 20-24 psi and +20mm above normal ride height. 19" will beat the **** out of your suspension parts as well because you can't use very low psi without risking a bad day.

Also, FYI, I got over 75,000 miles on a set of BFG KO1 before selling them. Tell me about saving a few bucks....? There's a reason they cost so much in certain sizes. 276/65-18 is damn near perfect if you're willing to do the modifications to the fender liner/wheel housing and frame horns.

Good luck.

Tires are the limiting factor on these trucks from the factory.

It becomes more apparent the further you try to push them, and the more you weigh them down with gear.

If you are looking for a more aggressive "look", or perhaps a bit more traction should you find yourself on a muddy, yet otherwise mundane section of trail, then by all means go for a 19" tire with a more aggressive tread pattern.

If you plan on pushing these trucks, and especially if you plan on adding weight via bumpers, winches, racks, tents, etc., a set of 17" or 18" LT tires should be the absolute top of your priority list IMO.

If you are somewhat handy, sourcing a set of LR 18" wheels, and a 25MM spacer is the most cost effective way to accomplish this. None of the other mods are particularly difficult, they just take some doing.

If you plan on just running gravel roads or soft trails, maybe it doesn't really matter, but I have done some talus slope crossings in mine where you will not convince me that low profile tires on a 19" wheel would have survived. My LR 18" wheels with LT265/65R18's were battered, as it was. I have since gone to a LT275/65R18 with more sidewall, and next time I need tires, I plan on going up again to LT265/70R18.
