To vinyl wrap a new color on my LR? I have the super low mileage durable last of the V8s and it's black. I love the black but every time I see a white one I want that instead. I've never seen a vehicle that looks so good in white. There's a 16 on the local lot with 24k miles running at $46k list but I'm not interested in going v6 and losing the shifter knob or going to a pitch black interior.

I'm figuring $3-4k for a solid wrap job which seems way better than trying to repaint or trade for a similar beast in white. Thoughts?

buy another white vehicle and leave the rover as is.... ;) Buy a white Disco 1 for less than the cost of the wrap!! Yes, that is the more cost effective plan and more fun too. In a year you can sell it when you get over it. You have to pay again to have a wrap removed properly and the longer you wait, the more chance there is of it screwing up the paint upon removal. I bet it's several hundred for top notch removal 5 yrs out.

Wraps are cool. Find a quality shop that uses the best materials and guarantees install and clean removal. I don't think I've seen a white wrap. I guess it would lose the sheen of white paint. I have seen mostly darker wraps in matte finishes.

Put that money in a rainy day account and start using it for proper maintenance on your LR. Save the rest for repairs. (You're going to need it.)

Get over the color. Buy a white one next time.

...he says wistfully thinking there's even a remote chance we'll ever see something like the LR4 again...

Don't need a new model to buy a white one. LR4 isn't even the best of the modern discos, the lr3 has the better engine bay for long term reliability and maintenance.

Yeah, I've considered the 3 as well. It's really hard to go back (in technological terms) from the 4 to 3 though. It's also much tougher to find a clean owned LR3 these days.
