I’m out of town and my engine light came on this past Sunday, which is the second time it happen within the last 8 months. The 1st time in last May 2018, fortunately it went out by itself after 3 days. Called LandRover Service center said could have been low battery issue. Even though I recently purchased a new battery he game me a reasonable explanation for that to be the cause. This time I check basics under hood and found air filter filthy and car was just serviced at the dealer in Oct 2018, I don’t think is was changed because the 3 screws were not screwed down into the air filter cover and 1 screw missing. I want to know has anyone took their LR2 in for engine light coming on and what was the diagnois. I plan on getting an OBD code reader to see what comes up. The car is running smoothly and normal pick-up even with 158k miles.
Any past experiences with engine light would be helpful.
Thanks

Follow-up: just considering the time span and location of the engine light coming on the dash board. Both cases I was out of town. First time it happen while I was working up in Rochester NY. This time I was working in DC. Wonder if it could have been bad gas stations out there in the boondocks I purchased gas from. I don’t remember those gas stations with any recognizable names.
Just a thought. I empty the tank and repost in a couple of days.
Thanks for reading.

2/27/19 Solution:
Installed new air filter from advanced parts auto, and added gas cleaner solution recommended by the sales clerk. Started the engine and engine light immediately went out.
My guess was the air filter was the problem which would have the most immediate effect. I heard an improvement in the idle and pick-up speed right away.
