Why? This will not change any minds or end well...

I will bite though, I have had both and the D5 is 3 times the vehicle in every way. However, the LR was more fun to drive.

LOL if one feels like the mid range rover is supposed to be the most practical, exactly how is the ******** D5 more practical when it's not even up to equal in so many aspects regarding cargo space and function of cargo areas especially the roof line and seat folding?

Driving characteristics, sure, it's a more refined machine.

Driver and passenger postitioning: while the seats are clearly more comfortable and better design, the site lines suck and back seat riders now won't know if they're in a rover or any other suv where they can't see much out the front.

So, you need to justify your purchase, fine, but you are 100% wrong in the "3 times" idea. It's maybe 2x in a couple aspects, but is a clear loser big time in some others.

Nah, I will stick with my 3x. And no, I do not need to justify my purchase.

Could you go deeper on this topic?

This is mostly from my view on what I need/want in a vehicle and how fulfills me.

But the D5 is lighter, stronger, faster, brakes better, handles better, more comfortable, better off-road/on-road dimensions, better technology, better safety, easier to drive, better MPG, better lighting inside and out, and more refined. Still keeping the outstanding 4wd system and EAS.

Not had one issue with sight lines or view - I am under 5'6".
The 2nd row does not have the view out the front like the LR4 but that is a want and not a need.

I guess vanity still rules then, despite being the "perfect wife" of a car, people must still want to be seen with the blonde bombshell when they are out in public because the D5 is not selling at the levels its performance would justify. Or it's too expensive for the segment. Or both I guess.
