I just have an HSE without the vision package.

Several times now after driving in the rain I'll shift to reverse and get the message on the center screen:
Parking Aid Alert
Cameras Unavailable
Please Consult Your Dealer.

I assume this is a water ingress issue and certainly odd for a vehicle that can cross several feet of water.

Anyway, has anyone else seen this and would it be a simple matter of replacing gasket(s) around the rear camera, or maybe the camera itself?

I see there are three Torx bolts underneath the handle containing the backup camera. Is it easy to get in there and remove?

Thanks for any help!

Anybody else having this issue? I'm getting the same message whenever I'm in heavy rain.

Thanks for the bump, I can update this.

It was a spot in the wiring harness for the parking sensors (behind the bumper) that had worn away the insulation and when wet was grounding out somehow.

Apparently when this happens with the parking sensors it also triggers the camera message.

Thank you hickersb! Do you know if it was in the front or rear bumper?

Turns out my issue is that the actual camera failed. Dealer had to order one, don't know the total cost yet. They will install it along with my 3rd water pump as water pump #2 is leaking. So glad I use this truck for work and the repairs go on the company credit card.

Me Too.

No LR Dealers in VT. I'm on my own. Anyone else with this issue, past of present, any troubleshooting/repair/replacement tips greatly appreciated. This is my first non-maintence related issue I've had with the car. I'm approaching 70k miles.
