Hey, I see you're in Charlotte. I'm in Cary right now for a while. Want to meet up at Uwharrie or something. I'm only only michelin ms2 right now for the big trip but it would be fine if mostly dry. I don't know of anywhere else in the state but I'm planning a beach outing soon to Hatteras

I just did a beach trip this fall to cape lookout! It was amazing. Would be glad to get up sometime and you’d be more than welcome to see/feel the control arm ride quality as well. My youngest son just started baseball season so my weekends are pretty much shot. Send me a pm and we can try to coordinate. I’ve been wanting to get out to uwharrie and that would give me a good excuse.

Let us know how it goes. If I was doing this myself in my driveway, I'd replace the whole control arm and not just the bushings.

I have an onboard compressor so we could experiment with tire psi.
Hey jwest, what exactly do you mean by onboard? Not that you can change PSI from the cabin with a click, like in a Humvee? I am also considering Polys, by the way. When offroading in the mountains (lot of crawl), I’ve continually had issues. So that’s my idea for the long trip to Asia.

I have an ARB mounted under the hood in front of the passenger side air intake. I keep enough hose coiled there to reach all 4 wheels, as well.

I think he was probably referring to something similar.

I would love to be able to flip a switch from the driver's seat, though.

compressor under the hood with outlet there and it supplies another factory air suspension tank under the passenger side for more volume delivery needed for a short burst like setting tubeless mountain bike tires.

For those of you who have done lower control arm replacement, did you reuse the hardware or purchase new? I figured I would just purchase new as piece of mind, but found out that the 4 bolts and washers, 6 nuts and 2 hex nuts run a total of around $110. Also a local shop mentioned they normally just reuse.

It's not something that you inherently need to buy new, but a lot of people have found they cant remove the old hardware without damaging it by, for example, sawing it off.

Can anyone point me to a good how-to, or video that shows in detail how the camber bolts and washers go together and work?

I don't shy away from many jobs, but alignment related items have always seemed like some sort of black magic witchcraft as I have zero experience working with them.

I'm probably close to another control arm job, and am thinking of trying these poly bushes, but I would rather do it myself than pay a shop to do it (other than the alignment at the end, of course).

You can search on youtube for control arms on an LR3. It's the same.
