About to fit BFG KO2's on my new Compo's. Are your KO2's 265/60-18 OR 265/65-18? I'm keen to keep
speedo as accurate as possible. Our cops here in Melbourne are redhot. 4kms/hour over and you are gone!
Are you in Oz?

Yep in Brisbane.. when we checked my speed he said it was within the tolerance that he allows - apparently each cop has a discretionary ‘error’ band that they can choose to apply. That’s why it does not pay to give them attitude when pulled over...

Have 265/65-18s - great tire..

G'day HarryO. Thanks, Have you had any rubbing problems with the 265/65's?? Others on the forum
have reported slight rubbing on full turning with the 65's.
I'll check the BFG website for full specs.
Are yours a lot louder than the OE Goodyears?
Did your Compo's come in via Green Oval Experience in Perth? I had real problems.
I'm getting Rock Sliders & guards from APT in Brisbane mid-year. Have you had anything to do with them?

Start with the easy answers -

GOE was listed as having a load of problems on AULRO so I avoided them. Phoned the manufacturer in the UK they arranged for me to pay by CCard via a distributor in Ireland. Paid incl express freight and 8 Days later they arrived on my door. Great service.

Have not had any problems with rubbing - slight touch on full lock but nothing to worry about.

No major road noise but then I’m half deaf :) (load music & 70’s were really good for me)

Had no dealings with APT - made my own sliders (see photo)

Fraction of the $$ - did not like the slider gap between front wheel & door on the ones on the market.

Thanks again HarryO. I'd love to tell you all the adventures I've had with GOE last year.
Your sliders look great! I assume you use OE bolt holes? I'm 70 & deaf from '60's British beat music!! But LOVE driving
my 2014 D4 Update. I had a 1995 300TDI for 20 years. I'm most way through putting on all the
gear I want - Opposite Lock Bullbar, Kaymar rear bar w/wheel hanger, Brown Davis 110 litre aux.
tank. Snorkel next month, sliders & compressor & airtank guards etc to follow soon.

G'day again HarryO, APT seem to have a good range of protection gear. Their YouTube pieces are
very well done. They'll do sliders with checkerplate tops (just like GOE, but that's another story!)
How many Km's have you done in your TDV6? Any real problems? I've got less than 50,000km's
so far. I'll be in Brissie around July. Hear from you when you're back.
Yeah, sorry for highjack!

I’ve got the same issue with delamination on the wheels.

I was told by Compomotive’s Barry, that it was my fault and nothing they can do.
“The images do seem to show the action of a chemical liquid trail running down the face of the wheel… I guess that the only option for these now to bring them back to original finish would be to get them re painted locally. ”

I will do that, just doesn’t seem like good business practice. Especially when there are many customers with the same complaints.

They are shooting themselves in the foot. I was all set to purchase. Hearing these complaints, I’m no longer a prospective buyer. I guess they don’t care, but sooner or later they’ll find themselves with a shortage of customers- and they will have done that to themselves.

Premium brand should equal premium service. In this case, it does not.
