Not glossy candy apple red or blaze orange, eh? j/k, I like the color suggestions you made. I'd probably go matte silver.

hahaha... not my thing. i am more oem+ these days and subtle upgrades.

Heat resistant paint and attention to detail, I'm guessing?

it is more about the prep than the paint but heat resistant paint is what i would use if i did it myself otherwise powder coat is the way to go.

Same here. I'm even hesitant to add a rack. I swing between the low profile Prospeed and the OEM Expedition rack, however. Just changes the entire character of the vehicle. I'm currently looking for just the right P38 w/no mods (I would consider a coil conversion, I suppose, but nothing more).

I am confused. Full OEM LR4 setup or a full Brembo set up? I have always felt that given the heft and weight of the LR4 and pedal feel the brakes could be beefed up a bit. In addition I am not a fan of the standard caliper or the way everything rusts out and looks after a few thousand miles. I know this isn't a show car but when cleaned up I like it to look the part of a land yacht.

You mentioned you didn't care for the feel for the LR4 brakes. I am telling you I think they are fine for what the vehicle is. I've always had a properly flushed, full-OEM factory setup. Have you? I'm just curious if non-OEM parts or not-recently flushed fluid could be impacting your perception.

By all means upgrade to the Brembo setup. It ought to improve things. Personally, I think the LR4 has pretty strong brakes. I've always had other high-performance cars and currently have a Miata on high-performance Hawk brake pads and a new M3. They obviously have better and better-feeling brakes, but even going straight from one of them to the LR4 I don't feel the brakes are sub-par for what I expect out of a 3-ton SUV. Then again, the LR4 is my chill vehicle. But I do put a huge premium on brakes and if I felt any lack of confidence in them I would change them. The fact that the OEM brakes are good is one of the things that drew me to the LR4.

All that said, I think that's a cool upgrade and will be curious to see how it turns out if you go through it. Good luck!
