I have a 2010 LR4 and over the last few weeks I have been having issues with the radio going from normal working operation under (am or fm), USB and iPhone 6 (using the 30 pin to lighting connector) to straight static noise out of no where.

My radio system will just stop working and immediate static plays through all the speakers. The volume blasts through and the static noise turns up so loud that it will scare the crap out of you and hurt your ears. I have always been able to turn the volume down, but yesterday, I couldn't even do that. I pressed the power button on the radio, but that didn't work either and the volume remained loud playing static....

After shutting down the car and waiting 10 minutes or so, it will turn back on normal and work fine. Then, a few days later it happens again. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone one a fix to the issue? I saw that a software update might work, but haven't gotten any feedback on other threads. Is there a way to determine what version software is currently being used by the radio? Does anyone know what the latest version of software is for the stock radio in a 2010 LR4?

Thank you for any advice or help!!!
Matt

Im just glad that I'm not the only one it's happened to. I took a video of it the last time it happened. Just curious, did you have the iPhone radio adapter plugged into the system and then get a phone call? Afterwards, it happened? That always seems to trigger it on mine.

This has happened to me couple of times and its very annoying but I was always able to control the static with the volume knob and the only way to have the system work again is to power the car down and restart.

Avraja, have you spoke with your local Land Rover Dealer about the problem? Did they say anything or have they heard about it before? I called my local service shop and they acted like they've never seen or heard about this issue before... Let me know if you ever find out of a fix or any kind of resolution.

Do you recall if you were connected to the adapter and playing audio through it and got a call, then it went into "static" mode? That's how it seems to be triggered on my LR4. JW. Thank you for your feedback!

I have the iPhone adapter plugged in yes, and a Bluetooth adapter to it to Bluetooth tunes since the archaic sound system does not do it. So, I powered down the system by unplugging the positive lead on the battery for 15 minutes. Plugged it back in and viola! Back to normal with presets intact! Now, even weirder yet...the climate controls are in freaking Celsius. I think it can be switched back through the steering wheel and IP but haven't taken the time. I will update tomorrow

Has anyone found a solution to this problem? It just started on my 2010 LR4. Interestingly, it seems to happen only to me above 35 MPH.
