Alarm going off randomly. No message center alert

alarm randomly going off on my 2010 LR2. I press unlock on the key fob and alarm stops. I press lock and vehicle resets. It may go off again or maybe not. Today when I exited the vehicle I went to press lock and the horn beeped signaling a sensor. I opened and closed all the doors and the rear hatch. The vehicle reset when I pressed lock. A few minutes later the alarm went off, but only 30 seconds, stoped and reset to locked position.
Any thoughts?
1. Battery
2. Which sensor and shouldn’t it show on message center
3. While alarm going off I removed key from fob. Removed drivers door front handle. Inserted key and unlocked door. Thought this might reset something.

I also have had the alarm go off randomly a couple of times in the past year. My service center told me it was almost definitely the hood latch sensor. I'm waiting for it to happen a third time before I bother fixing it.

I’m pretty sure that’s what my issue is. I’m just puzzled there is no message on the dash message center. Or does a failed alarm sensor not show on the message center?? I just would like to know for sure this is the issue before buying a new hood alarm switch sensor and it be something else. Thanks TomH

Today the alarms went off. Horn and flashing lights for about 30-45 seconds. Then horn stoped and lights continued for about 15 seconds. The returned to both honking and continued parking flashing lights. Do you still think it’s the hood switch? Thanks

I had the same problem on a LR3 several years ago. It was the hood latch sensor. I purchased one from Atlantic British. They have a video on how to replace. You can bypass the switch by removing the plug to the switch and shorting between the plug contacts.

+1! Literally happened to me the night I brought my used lr2 home. At 2am.... new hood latch switch from Atlantic British did the trick.

My LR4 started this, the hood switch is a crappy design, I tried to stretch the arm to make better contact but that failed so I made a small jumper completely bypassing the switch and that solved my random alarm problem.
