Nope so first I got the valvoline max life for all makes and models (red). Then about a bottle of peak 50/50 for all makes and models (green).

Just took for. 2 minute drive and it said overheating and switched to slug mode

One more side note after driving the coolant reservoir went from cold fill line when cold to completely full after warming up and driving

Be really careful! Don’t drive it if it’s overheating- even in slug mode. You’ll grenade your engine fast (less than two min).

Having been screwed by mixed coolant in another car flush it...get it out and reverse flush it too. You do not want the wrong stuff in there building up scales and messing up the whole system.

I’m assuming it’s ok at least to drive to a place to have it flushed? Probably needs it with 140k anyway

Much easier to use a vacuum refill tool to get the air out.

For the coolant.
Manual says. "Castrol SF antifreeze."
Shop manual says "Jaguar specification WSS M97B44-D" which is a ford spec.

---> Pentofrost SF (SF-G12+) coolant <----- its Pink & Clear, its WSS M97B44-D

Both are majority ethylene glycol formulas with a small percentage of "Organic Acid Technology" corrosion inhibitors.

I have read that Prestone Dex-cool does also meet that spec, but I have also read some concerning things about dex-cool so I avoid it.

MrGreen. My advice. Take your time here as overheating this engine will turn it into a $10k paperweight. The info you need in the forum.

To repeat what was stated earlier... flush the coolant out. Green does not play nice when mixed with the OEM orange stuff. Do a couple of flushes with water if necessary. Google for more info on what happens if you mix green with Dex-Cool (which is basically what the LR stuff is, more or less).

FYI, the genuine Land Rover antifreeze from the dealer was not that expensive when I last bought some a couple years ago. Worth it for peace of mind on an engine that cost $5-$8k (plus labor!) to replace with a used one.
