Also... Anyone else think those tiny rear lights plopped amongst all that sheet metal looks ridiculous?

In the reveal Jerry mentioned that square as a "design" element to give the Defender a more "planted" look. And of course, the side ladder and side cargo boxes need to go there.

You guys are all bent on the C pillar...you should be more excited that the entirely flat floor with seats down is there!

I am excited about the flat floor, but it looks to be 6" shorter than the LR4...

That might mean my exped mat won't fit. Guess we will have to see in real life.

Been tracking the responses in a much larger, non-vehicle forum that I have been a longtime member of.

Not a good reception so far.

This will make an awesome business school case study if this thing flops.

Ditto to what @backcountryLR4 said. If I can't stretch out fully and sleep in the back, it's a non-starter for me. I don't want a 175 pound rodent roof tent up top.

If the 110 is too short, probably the forthcoming 130 will let even tall people stretch out in back.

My wife hates it, but she has not seen much of the interior yet. I am not in love with the exterior (mostly I do not care for the front end) but it does appear to be very well thought out and has tons of options and details that I can piece together based on my needs. That's a good sales pitch from LR in this case.

It's going to come down to money in the end, these things look like they can get pricey very fast.

Anyone have an idea when 90 pricing will be on the site? Is the 110 coming first to NA and 90 later?

It'll probably be an extra-cost option to NOT have the blind spot.

Or maybe put a camera on the outside and a screen on the inside. Innovation!

I imagine it is. What I can't imagine is why they can't build a car with as much structural integrity as everyone else? Somehow the LR4 managed to span the whole back window without a 16" wide brace, lol. I also can't imagine why they thought painting it so that it stands out to let everyone know they have incompetent engineers :)

I misread your post as saying 'structural'. which I think it is.

"One curious design detail is what LR insiders refer to as "the square," which can be seen in these official images as an extra-thick C-pillar. The additional material isn't structural, and it will be possible to order the Defender without it, increasing the vision of rear-seat passengers."

***? I'd definitely like to find out more about this. And talk to the people that are willing to pay extra for a blind spot that you could hide an RV in.

Looks OK but I am not sure if it is "Shut Up and take my money!" good.
