Hey Y'all... I did another oil change today with the Mityvac and only got about 7.5 liters out of the engine. The oil change interval was right around 7K. The 5.0 in my 2013 with 100K miles runs great with no signs of any leaking or burning but it looks like I lost 1/2 liter over the 7K miles? I sucked out the oil to the point where the oil gurgles out at the end. So, does the Mityvac really get all the oil out or am I losing 1/2 liter by some other means? I refilled with 8 liters.

Thanks in advance for any input from the forum...

Some is in your saturated oil filter and filter housing area. 7.5L is about what I get out. I put 8 in and level seems ok for the interval. It has a big sump with extra capacity. Check the level a few times as per the manual.

It would be really cool if the internal service interval alert could be reduced to 7500 miles with the Gap tool. I guess I'll have to keep with the old school of just remembering!

I do mine every 5k for that reason. Easier to remember to do it on xx0,000 and xx5,000.

I typically drain out 7.0-7.5 quarts and put back in 8.0 quarts. The electronic "gauge" - and I use that term loosely - always shows max.

This is totally normal, nothing to be concerned about, unless you start draining out <6 quarts and/or the "gauge" starts complaining about low levels.
