I'd say it was taken one one of the planets in Star Wars, but not being versed enough it would probably be wrong and lead to a whole new off-topic discussion about that...

The pic is from the Frankfurt Auto Show. The pic is from here:

It is also shown at the end of this review, which is not bad - gives a nice closeup of interior bits:

So am I the only one wishing there was a V8 option? Maybe a special version down the line?

Won’t hold my breath ;-/

Wishing for a V8 Defender is like wishing the Discovery SVX is still going to happen; sadly it's not going to come, ever

The only hope for a different engine is the P400e.

I doubt the diesels will ever come.

You can stop dreaming about a V8.

Ok, I was hoping that pic was from a dealer lot somewhere in South America. I guess according to what I'm thinking, they'll get it first and I'm dying for some real world experience. That video is really the best details we've seen and for me personally, this Defender checks the boxes that the D5 didn't. I hate the dial shifter in the D5 and the Defender has the lever, and I have just not gotten 100% on board with the rear of the D5 but love the Defender. The infotainment in the D5 has been problematic according to reviews and since the Defender is all new maybe there's hope the new system will operate properly. I can live with the engine choices and based on the build thing on LRNA $60k gets a pretty decently equipped unit. Looks like the Touareg will be history in half a year. LOL.

Was thinking about this last night.

I don't hate it, but I doubt I will ever break out my wallet for it. Those powertrain options leave me a little cold. People knocked the LR4 for complexity when it debuted, but this brings it to an entirely new level.

If I were starting to build another truck for my use right now, I would almost assuredly be looking at a Wrangler, Tacoma or 4Runner.

I d@mn sure wouldn't be volunteering to be an early adopter beta tester.
