Who Makes the OEM Brake Pads/Rotors?

I just paid $37 shipped for a set of rear pads, + another 12 or so for the sensor (not OEM, will see how it goes)

Not going to bother with rotors as they were replaced with the last set of pads.

I got about 20,000 miles out of the rear pads. Fronts still have plenty of material left.

I wouldn’t measure brake pad life in time.. it’s purely a function of mileage.

I’ve had this car for about a year. So I got half your time but I may have driven more.

True on mileage as a variable in wear factor. Yet, I have no idea how many miles.

I believe this is the set up from factory.

Akebonos are usually solid if not a bit wooden in feel. They are clean. The Brembo ceramics I am running on the front still dust quite a bit, about halfway between stock and the akebonos. They do have great feel though.

have you tried EBC green? cant tell if or how much cleaner they are than the akebonos.

have not tried green. The Brembos are good, they came with the proper counterweights and packaged very nicely and they were only $50ish US IIRC from Rock Auto.

There are old threads discussing brake pad mfrs/compounds in detail. Search the forum...

Go aftermarket and get something better

Ebc greens are better than oem but i think much dirtier than hawk/akebono ceramics

It’s very variable on brake pad ware/ rotor ware. It all depends on how much your using your brake and if there’s friction from sticking brake calipers and ware / grooving on your discs. If you do any off roading can cause excessive pad ware. I’m finding my pads last around 15000 miles or
2 1/2 years for pad changing and usually 40000 to 50000 miles Disc change. On my last disc / pad change I decided to try Terrafirma Uprated Discs with Uprated EBC Green Stuff pads. To date the last disc/ pads have lasted 3.5 years and have covered so far 33000 miles. There is no lips on discs yet and ware of pads is less than one third.
