Hi All, I was looking at rods and/or other lifting options and dumbly realized I'm not even sure I have a jack that can go high enough to remove the wheels [being somewhat new to LR4 ownership]. So... my question is basic. What are the best practices for jacking our LRs?

Yeah that's partly why I was asking because I already have a really great jack for our cars except its a low profile so i'm pretty sure it won't go as high as i need for the LR.

I know its for offroad purposes but does anyone have experience with one of these?

Unless you have sliders, I'm not sure what you'd use as a jacking point with the Hi-Lift.

Careful with the hi lift as it will crease the door [emoji51]

I use the safe jack system with the jack stand. They have a new stand but I don’t know if it works with the LR 3/4s.

I’m curious to what you mean by this? I do have sliders and a solid rear bumper so was thinking, in a pinch, I could use. But def will not be doing that if it’s going to “crease” the door.

The jack will tend to lean into the car as you are jacking. It can push the door skin in. I’ve seen it happen on more than one occasion, even with sliders. For this reason I don’t use the hi lift on my LR4. I carry the safe jack bottle jack and jack stand. I too have sliders and a steel bumper. I use my hi lift on my 110 but will also carry the bottle jack.
