followed you setup and installed this today.

I had to combine the battery and ACC to 12 volts to get it to turn on, but it never turns off. But I wired into the 12V from the nav connector. Do you remember what you connected to?

thanks

couple things to know.
If you have the nav screen - the connector has power, ACC and light control line.
constant 12V is pin 1
switched 12V is pin 11.
light control is 12.

however, to get to work properly the BATT goes to 11 and the ACC goes to 1.

I used the line level outs wired to the rear AUX vs wiring into main radio headunit to make it easier.

One negative of this particular Android unit is it doesnt have an external mic for bluetooth calls. otherwise its pretty quick and fits PERFECTLY within the space.

I'd bet with a little ingenuity one could wire into the cars GPS antenna.

Just a note on the fiber optic line, on my LR3 I removed the factory radio and the amp and was able to bypass by taking a bic pen and cutting about a 1 1/2 inch piece, sticking the fiber cable in each end, and taping with electrical tape. I saw that on line somewhere and it works. I put in a Pioneer AVIC NEX and Pioneer amp under the seat where the factory amp was. I tied the speaker wires into the factory speaker wires where they had gone into the amp but screwed something up and only have sound in the front. No big deal for me. I posted pics on one of the LR forums but have had a hard drive crash since then and lost all the pics and info. You might try searching this forum or DISCO3UK under my name remember5.

Actually see if this links you:

@LVDaytripper - hoping to revive this old post as I'm looking at a similar setup. I just purchased a 2008 LR3 SE with no factory nav screen. Thought I would check in to see how the unit you installed is performing after a year? I see the same or similar unit still for sale on ebay and was going to buy. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Android-9-...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

Any input on how the unit has lasted would be helpful as well as pro's and cons. I'll also buy a back up camera to add to this. Did you ever add a camera?

Thanks!

FYI, a different approach. Today I installed a Road Top 7” Touchscreen Monitor with integrated wireless CarPlay, microphone for hands free phone calls, and backup camera. Super easy to install, it just adds to the system you have. You can output audio via integrated FM transmitter or by wire to an AUX input. The Rearview camera works perfectly. Wired or wireless CarPlay works awesome. I paid $329 at Amazon. The unit is showing unavailable but will probably reappear when it restocks. Super pleased so far and this brings together all the features I’ve been seeking for six years!

This looks like a great solution! I've been using an iPad mini 4 connected via a bluetooth into aux input which works flawlessly, but doesn't have Apple CarPlay. I really like the backup camera feature of this as well.

It looks great. Where did you attach the suction cup to support the device?
