That is why I just got the Nokian Hakka R3 SUVs installed today on my OEM 20's. I wish I had them installed earlier to get the slick release compound worn off first, but my tire guy was on vacation.

No kidding! I took out our Passport in the rain after putting on new Hakka R3 SUV winter tires. Spun all 4 tires pulling away from the first red light. Learned my lesson and took my wife's LR4 with new Nokian R3's on a long trip on a dry day.

After having(and loving) Blizzak WS80s on my Infiniti for 3-4 seasons, I definitely notice a little less of that mind-boggling grip.

That is why I just got the Nokian Hakka R3 SUVs installed today on my OEM 20's. Their grippy crystals last through the tread life, not just the top layer like the blizzaks.

I am putting them to the test driving 6 hours to Steamboat Springs tomorrow. I wish I had them installed earlier to get the slick release compound worn off first, but my tire guy was on vacation. ($50 to take all 5 of my compos off the vehicle and then remove the rubber from the OEM wheels and mount and balance the Nokians.)

The weather could be fun...

You really don't want to run a winter tire much below 6/32 anyhow as the snow traction really falls off. If you can get a Nokian winter for less than the Blizzak then it is a no brainer. Here in Canada the Bridgestones are $300-400 cheaper. Another big snow dump today. I have been driving on white roads for almost a month .

my lr4 with WRs was WAY better than my 2011 RR SC with blizzaks. used the blizzaks and chucked them when i found out the hakkas were available in 20in.
20 years ago i had WRs on a nissan maxima and my friend had a pathfinder (awd) with whatever tires came from the factory. we both stopped parallel on a pretty steep hill. i pulled away with no issues - he spun all 4 wheels. tires matter. i wish nokian wld make the WR in 20 inch for the 2011 RR SC. This season im using hakkas on the LR4 and im sure it will be a beast!

I just put on the Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015 255/15/19. They are a 111H instead of 111V, but I don’t plan on running these above 130mph. I usually keep it around 110mph off-trail. They are all weather, but have the winter rating as well.

They seem to have some nice grip, and for a 19” look pretty tough. I’ll let you all know how they do.

Any more feedback on these? Noisy, snow traction?

30 inch OD Toyo Celsius CUV (Cute Utility Vehicle) tyres P235/65R18

One can refer back to post #27 in this thread re my Cute Utility Vehicle tyres but 30,000 km and a year later, I am still impressed, plus no real signs of wear either. Run quiet, take potholes well, and seems to remain between the ditches.

With the pox on, it does not even do the grocery getter run much these days.
