After several hours of searching and reading I am still a little unclear about fitting BFG K02s on my LR4.
I'm currently running Cooper Discoverer AT3 in 265/65/18 on LR3 18" rims with 1.25" spacers. I have done minor trimming of the wheel liners and significant trimming of the frame horns.
I want to run BFG K02s in 275/65/18 without a full time lift.
What I think I need to do is more liner trimming front and back. Possibly moving the heater coolant lines in the rear. Is that correct or am I missing something? I seem to find conflicting info about whether that size will clear without a full time lift or not.

I see LR3s running around town in that tire size. There's one that parks in the same garage I do when I'm at work.

The one reservation with that size is that, if you are in the middle of nowhere and your suspension goes ***** and tries to drop to the bumps, those tires will hit the top of your wheel-well and you won't be going anywhere. Beyond anything else, that's why 265/65/18 has been recommended as the max tire size if you don't want to use strut spacers and whatnot.

Not sure if this helps you...and I recognize that it comes from someone selling lift rods. The Johnson rod page says anything over 31.5” requires significant modifications. Those K02’s come in at just over 32”.

Here is a link to tires sizes and lift recommendations: http://johnsonrods.com/johnson_rods_3_004.htm

I also read somewhere that you will need to reroute your brake and tpms lines for that size.

Interested to see how this goes as I opted for the 265/65 and think the 275 would be a nice upgrade but am not interested in all the shaving.

I ran 265/70 with nothing more than proud rhino rods on our 2007 LR3.

On the 06 with coil overs I didn't have to make any changes until I hit 33x12.50r18

On it I had run 275/65, 265/70 and 285/65 (this had light rubbing on the wheel well liner under full lock)

I removed the plastic heat shield and the spare fits at 20psi (I run them closer to 50psi when on the car).

I too have a roof rack mounted spare carrier. But only plan to use that when actually out in the woods / dirt / sand as it makes the rig pretty damn tall when in place.

I was wondering what people do to protect the spare tire from sun and weather exposure when sitting on top of the rack like that.

I have a tire cover for my 275/65 but haven't gotten one ordered for the 33's
