Hi guys, new to the forum. I'm pretty mechanically inclined and just did a few repairs to my 2012 LR4. Recently, I tackled the air compressor rebuild. After about two weeks of it working perfectly, my short MIL came to visit, and I started using access height and now, there is a loud burst of air(from the compressor), when it levels off. Haven't been able to inspect it yet, but was curious to know if anyone has had this issue before. Thanks in advance

Also, compressor still works perfect, and as quiet as ever. I do have a minor leak that I need to trace, because the front sags overnight. Both bags have been replaced and there is no audible hiss from either side.

I'm hunting down suspension ghosts myself, but if I had to guess on a place to start, it would be the center valve block located right by your compressor. The front sagging overnight is a clue to me.

Over time, the desiccant in the compressor-dryer degrades and sends powder down the lines and into the valve blocks. They sell rebuild kits for the valve blocks, but I just bought some for mine (off amazon, but all the ones I found look the same) and wasn't too impressed by the quality. For the center valve block, it was okay, but I still had to re-use one of the old seals because it was impossible to get one of the new ones to fit right.

If I were you, I'd just remove your center valve block and try to clean it. You can probably tell if it's the issue. If it is and cleaning it doesn't work, buy a new one.

I couldn't find a video of the center valve block online, but the insides are very similar to the front and back valve blocks, and you can find rebuild videos on youtube of those.

Ryanjl, thanks for the info, does that valve block control the purging? Also, the front sagging has been there long before the rebuild. Actually, it was sagging and I found a leak on the driver bag, replaced it, and that's when the"normal height" started appearing. Then rebuilt the compressor and it didn't sag for a day or two. Fast forward 2 weeks and now I'm getting the loud purge sound. Not sure if it's correlated, but worth a check of the valve block. Probably something simple, just seeing if anyone has the same sound. Not going to mess with it for a bit, due to the holidays. And the fact that I just replaced a bunch of parts, this month.

No, don't have a scanner, but I also don't have any lights or error message.

Scott, the front end sinking overnight sounds like the front block. Have you tried removing the fuse for a night to see what happens? FYI, I tried the repair kits for both the blocks and compressor and none fixed the problems. I ended up replacing them all. I had the compressor shipped from the UK at about half the price.
