Looking to I guess do a flash update and enable some features on LR3 2005 V8.

Want: Touch signals, clock on dash (as my radio's screen is hard to see) Fiber Optic 6 cd changer
and re calibrate the gearbox due to downshifting problem when stopping and snatching when rolling and accelerating. Also calibrating air suspension, Front Left corner seems low.

None of this stops it from going, runs great so I can't see spending a lot of cash on the tools yet.

I work in Wilmington NC, but live in Chesapeake, Virginia and am back and forth every other week or so.
I can pay you a fee for time and effort if reasonable. I'll get one eventually but was unemployed for 5 months and just getting back on feet.

IIDTools are VIN-locked except for models designed for shop owners that cost a lot more. It might be difficult to fulfill this request.

Not opposed to an indy shop also if applies (IID Tool Pro)
Maybe it's time to investigate an American distributor. Is there any out there?

Thx ArmyRover, now I just have to find the Cash I guess.
Xmas is bogging down my path to the Red Clay, that and the missus screaming about me spending for upgrades.
Got a couple must haves I have to get, then I am in.

Take your time and make sure you are armored and have a winch. I think I am going to pass on running it again and just go enjoy the Daniel Boone forest.

Apparently we drive to slow for the event anyways:driver:

Well I think most would agree with your "Good Guy" Approach.
Sounds like I don't need to run it either seeing the guy who runs it quotes.

Most Rovers arn't beaters to run the crap out of, I know I drive mine daily so not looking to run the crap out of it and crash crap. I wouldn't mind scratching paint but to run something hard knowing you may break is ridiculous. I've been looking into the Daniel Boone Trail as well maybe I will run that first if I get what I need.
Winch Bumper, Winch, Sliders and some other armor for the bottom then I will get serious.

@Ruper, I came across this thread, and your description of the the acceleration concern for the gearbox seems to be almost exact to what I was experiencing. I would suggest looking into when the last time your Trans Fluid was changed out, allowing for the valve body sleeves to be switched out. I initially was going to change out my TCC solenoids, but did a transmission pan conversion and changed out the valve body sleeves, and that cleared up the accelleration jerking I was experiencing. There were several forums that I had read, which referenced the cleaning of the fluid will sometimes remedy such slipping/jerking issues.

I read the same stuff. I did the transmission fluid change but not the filter conversion yet. I just dropped the fluid out and topped it back up as per the write up going through the gears.
That didn't change it. Also got an IIDTool and did the ECU upgrade. That didn't help it either.

I will need to check into the solenoids you mention as I was leaning toward the Torque converter which made sense to me although I have been lucky enough to have driven company trucks for the last 20 years. I own a Scout 800 with a 3 speed, but it it just strictly gears and levers. I tore it down with my dad years back and I was surprised at how simple the manual 3 speed was. Dad tried to get me to change to a auto but I said no way. She don't get out of the garage much. We, Dad and I did a frame off resto on the scout.
I'll check into this solenoid. The conversion I was leaning toward anyway.

Thanks for the input, got to be cheaper than a torque converter install. Glad you sorted your out.

Bought a BT IIDTool, and it was worth every penny.
Downloaded the Transmission flash Friday, applied re-flashed the tranny ECU and the hard clank on acceleration has gone away. For now best $34.00 I have spent so far on the LR, except of coarse the IID Tool itself. The previous post didn't have the reflash from GAP Fast Lane as part of the original package. Paid up downloaded and she is rolling better now.
