I use one of those metal bars that go across the steering wheel to keep people from stealing your vehicle. We recently had some break-ins in the neighborhood.

Today i put that lock on the steering wheel and shut the door, but i guess i outbit on backwards and the end of it stopped my door from shutting. When i opened the door, i noticed the leather ripped from the impact with the bar.

its gonna bother me. I want it fixed. What are my options? Car upholstery? Some leather fix cream? Order the part from land rover?

what have y'all found works best?
If you have experience with this, please comment the types of prices and costs you experienced in fixing this. Just trying to form realistic expectations here. Thanks!

Having it repaired and getting a used door skin of the auction site might be the same price-It'll repair but the labor will add up.. It looks like it rolled down the rip, can you massage it back up and hit it with with some silicone?

It does look rolled like Mike above said, so the piece may all still be there. I think there are adhesives for leather. I'd get some shoe polish that matches the color. Hit the area with the shoe polish then heat it up a little and try to work the piece back in place then use adhesive to hold in place. Or check with local upholstery shop and see what they can do.

Check at a local used car dealer. They almost always have a traveling guy that can touch up those small dings where you will never know they are there.

I have used them on my Porsches in the past and been very happy. Never been charged more than 50.00.

ETA:. You say you want to off-road, get used to having your rig scratched, dented, filled with muck and just generally beaten to hell. It adds character to a Rover. ;)

It did roll and i was able to get it pulled up. All the leather is there. None came off. I will check with a dealer to see if they have such a touch-up pro as @avslash mentioned. Will let y’all know.

Try this stuff: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001RQCTUU/
It worked to hold a rip together for me (dries invisible/clear) but it didn't "seal the gap in the rip". If you can roll it up with this under it'll probably basically disappear...but you'll always know it was there :)
I may try this. I also recently learned of a leather guy who does everything leather. Supposedly he can do everything from car interiors to belts to wallets.

Try these people.....but they are in Australia. They are happy to discuss by email. I used their product for wearing leather......fantastic. They franchise a Swiss product.
