Researching a few options as I plan to install a steel front bumper; whats trending? I'd like to retain safety features, e.g. airbag, parking sensors, washer reservoir. I understand newer ones have a reduced or shorter profile than ARB gaining approach angle clearance. Thx for input and stopping by.

* ARB?
* Tactical rovers?
* Proud Rhino?
* Torque performance 4x4?
* more

This is the bumper I will be getting in a year or so and paint matching the same. The ARB Summit bar. As you can see it has locations for the cameras, remote sensors and headlight washer's. I don't love the look of the yellow LED fogs and may do something more black and white to stay on color theme. I prefer matching it white instead of stock black, but the opinion varies widely around here.

Don't hate this color scheme on the bumper and love the circular led "halo" fogs instead of reusing the stock ones from the regular bumper.

I love my Proud Rhino but I don’t have any of the parking sensors so it worked for me. I don’t believe they offer one that is drilled for it unfortunately.

Tactical Rover all the way IMO. All 3 bumpers allow you to keep the options you are looking to retain. I was able to see the ARB, proud rhino and tactical up close and chose the tactical because the winch tray sits up higher, has a better approach compared to the ARB (proud rhino is about the same) and I was able to speak to Eric (the owner) about it in depth. He will also mod it to your liking in the event you want something custom done to it and....Made in the USA!!! I had the option to have the sensor holes but opted against it as I was looking for functionality first. When I first started looking I almost pulled the trigger on the ARB, but was too bulbous for my liking. Best of luck!!!!

Can anyone comment as to which bumper is the easiest to install?

EDIT: Also I have heard that certain bumpers make removing the headlights a pain or in some cases prevent it? Is there any truth to that?

If it matters to you, I would think the ARB bumper is the only one that's actually been crash tested.

I can speak on the TR bumper. Yes. Pain to remove the headlights and grill once on. If you want to see my install videos go to my Instagram @northbeachrovers and look for the bumper install story.

@d3lux06 / @DirtyHal if you have any questions regarding the videos I posted on Instagram just message me and I'll be more than happy to help if I can. I upgraded the hardware to grade 8, so my install was a little more involved.

I spoke with Todd at Columbia Roving in Portland a few months ago when I was shopping the TR vs ARB, and he recommended the TR/T44 on the grounds that it’s easier to install, has a better approach angle, and is more convenient to work with since the two piece design means the heavy winch tray stays attached to the truck when you remove the shell.

Regarding head lights and grille: I needed to re-trim the fender flares, and without removing my TR bumper I was able to remove the grille and slide out the headlights far enough to access the flare mounting screws, if that gives you an idea of the working room with the bumper on. However, I’d need to remove the bumper shell to fully remove the lights.

Yes, the two peice design on the T44 was a factor for me as well since I am pretty big on removing and maintaining all the equipment on my rig. So ease of removal was important...and it's super easy since you can unbolt and it just sits nicely on the winch tray.
