I was looking at the cracks and I remembered that I had purchased some BLACK RUBBER FLEX SEAL. So what did I have to lose? I painted over the cracks with a brush and waited 24 hours between each coat (3X). Here's the final coat and in 72 hours I'll sand it down. The sealant flowed into the cracks and filled them in. I'll post what it looks like when I'm done.

PS: I sprayed a portion of the dashboard with the spray seal and it looks pretty good. Let me know if you've ever done this....

Those cracks is where the passengers airbag deploys in an accident. Hope the sealant doesn’t get in the way. Insurance problems possibly in case of an accident??

Probably good enough for a battle wagon. I had cracks in mine and still wanted my wife to ride in it so I bought a molded cover from Coverlay Manufacturing. It's not cheap but the finished result looks factory-ish.

There are covers you can throw on there.

The coverlay looks very nice but like he said they are speedy.

I have a cover on the way from Knightsbridge Overland for my LR3

Here's a pic of my coverlay install. The passenger airbag escape hatch probably required more fitment than I felt like doing. It looks fine from the driver's seat. The manufacturer sells directly on eBay; that was the best price when I bought mine.

Just wondering...
Would these 'covers' affect the function of the airbags??? :afraid:

The coverlay is designed to allow the airbags to function.

The mat style I'm willing to roll the dice on
