I'm curious which one.

I started with an Thule basket on mine, and that caused sat reception to cut out intermittently for years. Somewhat related to time of day, it seemed.

I replaced the Thule with a Prospeed, which has a cut-out for the antenna. No issues with sat reception since that change.
I have the factory roof rack with sliding cross members, the back one was almost above the antenna so I slid it forward, everything works good now.

Back to the original intent of this thread, I too have this problem intermittently where the HD radio decides to turn off, and I can't turn it back on. For a short time, I started to suspect it had something to do with power loss. I was able to turn it in successfully at times when I suspected my battery was well charged (after a night on the battery tender) and while the vehicle wasn't pulling a heavy load (no air conditioning, lights, uphill drive, etc.). I THOUGHT I saw a correlation between being able up turn it back on and that.

But after further attempts failed under similar conditions, I find myself scratching my head again. It's been about a solid week now where I can't get it back on. Usually I'm able to get it to go on more frequently than this.

I'm curious if those of us who are having problem might find that we're all having the problem at the same time, and that it goes away simultaneously for all of us. I doubt it highly, but it's worth it to post here when any of us get it back.

Anyone have info on the HD radio antenna. Where is it routed? How to remove radio without disabling it to inspect wires on the backside?

I think my HD radio stopped working several months ago as well (2011 LR4). I just figured something went wrong with the radio or antenna, but wonder if there's something else if several others have suddenly experienced the same thing - has HD radio changed in some way, and our outdated radios can no longer recognize the signal? I had asked the dealer to check it out a few months ago, but they gave me a song and dance about it taking possibly hours of checking wires, etc, and would cost a few hundred just to diagnose the issue. I passed on that offer. All in all, the radio on the 2011 model is downright pitiful - I have never found a way to even scroll through Sirius channels - it only lets you scroll by 'category'. Thankfully I figured out how to connect my iphone via bluetooth to a device hooked up to the USB port in the armrest, so I can stream music through that. But I haven't touched the Nav since the day I picked it up 8 years ago, when I realized it was entirely useless back then. Main regret after all these years is that I should have waited for the 2012, which had an updated radio... (even if that was still terrible by 2012 standards, it was way better than the 2011 version, based on loaners I had driven at the time). I also have roof racks, but they've been on the truck since delivered.

Please chime in if you ARE able to turn on your HD setting in your radio settings. If there's ANYBODY who currently can, that might tell us something. Thanks, all, for checking.

Do you have a roof rack? Some racks play hell with the sat reception
My 2016 LR4 Landmark had some rails. I then installed the original Land Rover full racks to carry our kayaks and stuff. But I had problems with the installed satellite radio from the get go and recently read on an auto magazine that it’s a problem with the car and not the radio/satellite. There is something in the way it’s installed that obstructs the signal. If anyone has found a solution to this, please enlighten me. If I plug in through Bluetooth streaming from my phone, it works great. So it’s not the reception. It’s got to be something with the hardware in the car.

I've had my car for about a year now, and have also concluded that the radio is completely useless. HD doesn't turn on, and now I just started siriusXM to find out I can just seek through channels. Anyone have more luck with he HD Radio working? Makes no sense to me...

I have had the same issue with the HD radio as well for over the past year. Between that and my Sirius radio dropping signal when it would get over 95 degrees I gave up on both. Bovee adapter, Amazon music and a Echo Auto. For me that solved the headache and gave me voice control for calls, music, gps, and household device control for my 2011.

I have a 2012 LR4, but do not have the HD Sirius radio. The radio has always worked fine. In the last 2 1/2 months I noticed it wasnt picking up rural FM radio stations, or if it idid it would quickly fade. I had the windshield replaced 6 months ago and am wondering if the antenna connection (orsomething) worked loose? Anpone else experinced this?
Thanks,
Walt

The only issue I’ve been having with my 2012 LR4 radio is when I choose an option on the screen, it takes 6 to 10 seconds for the screen to catch up with what I selected. It’s especially frustrating if I try to use the nav system. Has anyone else has this issue?
