Yeah, but the point was that the sales guy at the Bedford NH JLR said one can order glass instead of the obstruction.

That’s a biggie. I would never buy a vehicle with that obstruction built in for no reason.

The obstruction is a structural beam. I think your salesman doesn’t know what he’s talking about. You can choose glass instead of that painted floating square, but the big fat pillar is still in there. Although it doesn’t look like it is as bad in the 4 door as it is in the two door.

If you get the side ladder or box it would protect the glass I guess. But I don't think it is actually structural. On the 90, there doesn't seem to be anything between the B pillar and C pillar....

Because it isn't structural on the 90. Look at the same diagram of the 110 chassis, and you'll see a wide metal pillar there.

I have the feeling the Bronco is going to be an absolute monster hit! At least for all us who want a Wrangler alternative. Fact of the matter is there literally no manufacturer who’s come close to giving Jeep a decent challenge....
We all wanted LR to be the one but sadly they went a different route

This dude's latest renders of the new Bronco are killer:

It it ends up looking like that (which the Ford Racing "Bronco R" they unveiled at SEMA makes it seem like these can't be far off), it pretty much shoots to **** all the B.S. reasons Land Rover gives us for why the new Defender has to be styled the way it is (safety, aero, etc.)

Then again, this same guy's red-do of the new Defender front end makes it look a ton better, too:

My order is in, Indus Silver 110 HSE with lots of options (I grew pretty spoiled for comfort gizmos by my current, fully equipped 2013 LR4, lol.) ETA to my Los Angeles area dealership should be late May / early June - their very first shipment they claim, and a couple of months earlier than I expected. Wish me luck, I am pretty excited.

CONGRATS! It has been a long wait. Given your history here as a leader in the LR4/D4 community for so long, I really do want to hear about your experience. I hope you'll stick around in this "old forum" with us all and/or set up a new thread somewhere and invite us all over to get your reports as you start to live with it.

Whoa, great news! So they backed down off the 20/30k premium they were asking?
