I would start with that cross over pipe. The water leak could travel anywhere from the top center portion of the engine.

OK Thanks. What do you think the repair cost for this is? The part cost looked reasonable.

It would depend honestly. I had the water pump on hand and a rebuilt and upgraded supercharger snout to install. So, I did not have to remove the entire super charger. Getting the new "y" pipe and the super charger snout nested and installed took the majority of the time.

If you mechanic does it this way, maybe 4 hours worth of labor, but it's about $600 in extra parts.

I think the supercharger removal is 10 hours of labor, but you don't have to shell out for the other parts.

I hope that that helps

I just had a leak on my 2007 Range Rover, turned out to be a T connector for Heater/Coolant system … One day there was nothing, the next there was a puddle under vehicle. The car never did overheat and it was a simple inexpensive fix at an everyday shop, about $125 out the door + tax …. I think that turning my heater on exposed the small crack in the part and started the leak ………. Good Luck, John

This sucks, I hate to see or read about people being taken by uneccessary replaced parts.

The only thing your "repair shops" got right was to look under the vehicle due to gravity, all else throwing parts at it until the problem was solved.
On the bright side the cross over pipe didn't fail you deep in the bush several miles beyond nowhere.....~~=o&o>......

I had a stone hit the super charger radiator on my LR4 a couple of years ago. I had it put on a flat bed to the nearest dealer hoping it was under warranty. It was not but my insurance company paid all but the deductible. They put a pump on the coolant reservoir and the leak started leaking in less than 2 min. Why wouldn't the landy shop do the same thing. Granted if the thermostat wasn't open it may not completely circulate past it to show the leak but at least you would know to look past the thermostat. I would hope they would have a way to remove the thermostat housing and continue the pressure test.

howardduff, unless they quit manufacturing stats without having the small hole with a brass cotter key in the hole "jiggle" there would be no way to vent out and purge air pockets in the cooling system. Call it "burping" the system which can not happen with a cold or closed stat that does not have that small vent hole. Yes a coolant system pressure check can and should of been performed checking for leaks as well where the vehicle was leaking being the first and basic step also taught in high school auto shop classes to young students. Shame on those shops not performing this quick and simple test and you trust them to work on your Land Rover? A 12 year old can diagnose and find your coolant leaking problem in less than 5 minutes. Pressurized cooling system will also apply pressure back flowing through the cooling system which will fully pressurize the system producing leaking coolant from a failed part. I wouldn't bring a blown up lawn mower engine to those idiots not alone your expensive pride and joy LR unless you enjoying being screwed over with an open wallet keeping them in business. My grandmother could of figured out your coolant leak problem, she worked at the American Company back in 1925 on a production line they had to maintain and keep running. I bet she still coiuld of found the problem and she has been dead for 32 years. Sad to see how gullible people are trusting independants as well stealerships. Sorry had to spout off, I hate reading about people getting big unecessary parts repair bills and being ripped off.....~~=o&o>......

I experienced a similar leak, with approximately same quantity of fluid appearing on our garage floor. The shop found a leaking Bleeder Pipe, not sure if this is the same item as the crossover pipe per previous post.
