2016 LR4 warn winch control side issues

im working on a 2016 LR4 v6 with warn winch 9.5 xp . Im having issues with the control side of the winch . IT has an external harness and connector with 6 female pins . i previously purchased and tested wired remote control from a new recovery bag . it is a 5 pin connector on the controller side . After having the winch in none use for over 4 months , i tested the winch to no actuation reverse or forward . i ran direct power to the main control solenoid and was able to operate the winch forward and reverse with the 5 pin connector . Double check all grounds and wires . i reordered a 6 pin warn controller with an on and off switch .I'm able to the winch to move in forward operation but not in reverse to retract the cable . Anyone have issues with this type of warn winch set up

So the controller isn't working or is the solenoid not working? It's a very simple setup, the controller just takes positive power and sends it to the in or out solenoid to run the winch. Also the winch is probably still under warranty from warn so you shouldn't need to buy parts.
