General question..my LR4 smart key battery low warning appeared on my dash today. It took awhile, but I finally figured out how to open the smart key and replace the battery. Once replaced, I followed the directions to turn off warning lamp, hit ok on steering wheel. This did not shut off warning on dash, even after several restart attempts with new smart key battery inserted?

I assume it was a fresh battery? I replaced mine for the first time this week on my 2010. What about the second key? Does that give the same warning? Does the warning go off with that second key?

Hello, did you ever figure this issue out. I have the same problem.

Doesn't happen with one of the smart keys

I replaced batteries in both

One of our fobs had a low battery. I had a 2032 watch battery with a 2017 expire date. Put it in, low battery warning still there.

I went out to Home Depot and bought a pack of brand new batteries, problem solved. Also be aware that the Energizer batteries I bought have a tiny piece of tape on the bottom of the battery that you need to remove before installing.

I'm not too proud to admit that I had a Whiskey-Tango-Foxtrot moment that led to this discovery when I replaced my battery. :albertein

When I change the battery I did use a fresh brand new energizer, I did take the piece of tape off the bottom of the battery.

Still have the same issue with the on FOB? Will maybe switch the batteries to see if I just got a bad "NEW" Battery.

That would be my guess, you got a "new" battery that may have been hanging on the shelf of a grocery store for several months before you bought it, so perhaps not fresh enough to get rid of the low battery warning (which is why I think swapping batteries with the "good" remote may not work. That's not a fresh battery, either.) Luckily, these batteries are easy to find and cheap.

Maybe a slight hijack on this thread but has anyone seen a good key fob case to protect me from hitting the buttons while in my pocket? Searched but no find.

Huh. Accidentally hitting those buttons has never been a problem for me. I tried a silicone sleeve before (to protect the fob from scratches and accidental drops), it worked quite well but, even though it is very thin, the cover adds bulk to the fob and makes it less slippery - it gets tangled in your pants pockets' lining more - so I ended up removing it and going "commando". There are tons of those covers on eBay if you want to give them a shot, they are cheap.

Did anyone figure out what the problem is I have replaced my battery and still get the same message even though the battery shows 3.37 volts when used so should be ok is there a trick to get it to turn off the message?
