CNET's review is worthy of a National Geographic TV show.

And, an expected quote from Car and Driver: That we experienced a few (mostly electrical) glitches on these preproduction vehicles wasn't nearly as surprising as the elephant we found snacking on a tree near a riverbed. Most of the warning lights were extinguished by a simple restart.

Nice to see that the simple restart still cures most random electrical issues. Just the other day the radio sound on my LR4 went missing. Pull over, restart and the music is back.

But I bet the ride is on par with an empty bed f-150. Barf.

Not much diff in these SUV rides anymore. tech is cheap to make them ride well. Even my 2018 f350 Super duty rides as well as my 2014 Suburban LTZ. ride tuning is cheap and easy now.

Looks like Ford must have walked away with the original defender designs as part of the break up. And, you can bet it will be better quality. Too bad.

Every time I see one with those idiotic panniers hanging off the sides I gag a little. I can't understand how someone at LR even THOUGHT to do that, let alone follow through with them. And charge thousands of dollars for them as well.

I agree. An idiotic design. Perhaps they wanted to attract the adventure bike crowd?

I test drove a diesel D5 and didn't like it how it drove at all. (Meaning I didn't like the engine) It seemed lethargic at all speeds. And the mpg difference didn't justify the higher cost for the D5 diesel.

I remember test driving a diesel Q7 and the instant torque from a dead stop was fantastic. I had a diesel A3 loaner that had so much torque it could spin all 4 tires from a dead stop. LR should just buy diesel engines from the Audi plant in Slovakia.
