Hi all,
Had my 2012 LR4 3.0 SDV6HSE for about a year now. It’s only done 59,000, but I’ve had to renew front wishbones, and new steering rack and pump, plus all new pipe work and reservoir. + New tyres all round.
But, I still find the truck isn’t smooth over bumps, like small potholes or rail lines. Haven’t driven another LR4 for years so nothing to compare, but wondered just how smooth it should be? Have bought new front drop links and antiroll bar bushes, not fitted yet , but I do feel it not right. Can anyone help? Cheers

Hi ktm525 & Roman,
Thank for responding both. Yep tyres here in UK lol.
Replaced tyres last year, with Goodyear Wrangler 18” all to spec, with 33psi front and 36-37 psi rear. Really beginning to think it’s the dampers though I’ve only done 59k miles.......
Think this machine should be oh sooo smooth..... but it’s just not.

Hmm weird. Even though wranglers are not known for a great ride it should still be decent at your pressures. Sorry for my ignorance but did they offer spring equipped 4s on your side of the pond or are we discussing air suspension?

Air suspension. What I intend to replace is air suspension shock absorber/damper strut complete on front. Not the hardest job, but wanted some input on ride expectations from other owners?
Cheers

Hmm. Perhaps. I have a high mileage 2010 and the front is not crashy. If anything it is a little floaty. You just replacing the damper assembly and transferring the air spring or doing a full replacement?

Do you feel the bumps in the steering wheel or in the floor?

84k miles on my 13 LR4 and still driving smooth as butter.

Duratracs aren't great, especially after 15k miles... That's a good place to start looking. Alignment is another big factor, before you start throwing parts at it.

My late 2013 with 42k miles is very smooth. The Terraincontacts made it even smoother compared to OEM tires.
