After 135k miles i am having to replace my thermostat housing. Got everything off okay but managed the damage T30 screw holding the housing to the block. Hopefully only the screw is damaged and not the thread on the block.

Can anyone tell me the size or spec of the screw?

This being memorial weekend the rover parts is closed so trying to find another source.
Thanks for your help.

Hi Gottwin,
Would you mind providing an update on how replacing the housing went? Any major issues, how long did it take you? I got an estimate from an indy for $1,100 since the AC had to be evacuated to access the area to change a hose and thermostat housing. Seems far fetched to me.

Appreciate the response.

Hi, the job is relatively easy with the exception of the T30 bolt.
My advice would be to remove the fan to improve access as i am sure i cross thread due to the odd angle inserting the bolt. I have a small leak so going to remove the housing, replace the bolt and retap the hole if i have the right size of tap.
You will need a good set of hose clamps but not much else other than that.
first time for my son and i and we would have had it done in an afternoon without much stress if it wasnt for the T30. We replaced all but one of the hises at the same time.
Still havent found the size of bolt but will try get that done this afternoon
Hope this helps.

The torx screw size is M6 x 1.0, roughly 30mm. Used hex bolt and all working now.
