I guess you discovered Doug's quirks...

hands down the most annoying persons i've seen this year and that says a lot. I made it about 60 secs b4 all the hand waving and silly run on syllables forced me to end the pain. Fingernails on chalkboard that dude is

It takes a quirky person to find all the little quirks of each vehicle, that is why he has his niche.

I also agree the 130 will be nice, I feel like I would need/want the extra foot of space in the boot if I had the option.

Here's hoping for the 130!

Yeah, cargo space is not critical for me, so losing nearly a foot of floor back there is no biggie, though the better rear passengers space will be welcome now that my twin daughters have grown... legs and are out of their booster seats. I probably won't be able to sleep in the car anymore (I am 6'1"), but I normally pitch a tent anyway when camping, so...

My concern with the 130 is that it will probably cost megabucks (something tells me the V8 they are testing now on those 110 mules will be launched on the 130 along with even more luxurious interiors - perhaps at substantial, G-Wagen territory premiums) and, since wheelbase will apparently be shared with the 110 if early reports are accurate, the extra overhang of the extended cargo area may affect departure angle and maneuverability somewhat when off-road. Plus, an extra foot of car would start being a tight squeeze in my garage without some serious rearranging of cabinets and crap. :)

The one item I know I'll really miss from my LR4 is the wonderful rear split gate. The 130 may have a different type of rear gate, who knows ( I am thinking they may well put the spare tire back under the cargo area instead of hanging it on the rear door, to limit the vehicle''s overall length.)

Hey, your right, I had not noticed the rear tire is not on the LR image that was leaked before the reveal. I guess that makes the split-gate and option, but it would seem like an extra expense to produce an entirely different gate for just one trim, unless it is indeed going to be very pricey...

Maybe a 150 down the road to outcompete the Suburban?

Every new Defender video I watch brings me one step closer to ordering one.

The underside of my LR4 is covered in rust from winter ski trips on salted roads and summer driving on a saltwater beach. The Defender would be much less prone to rust and corrosion. I already replaced one rear corroded brake caliper that was dragging and yesterday the other side started thumping after it rained overnight.

I recently saw an LR3 from Nantucket island at the dealer getting a frame replacement. That constant salt air dissolved the steel frame.

Stopped at the local Rover dealership on the way home today. They had a single defender on the lot with 10k mark up/ and added 5k in nick nacks: 90k Grand total before LA country taxes! In 2020 anything goes I suppose...

I've heard of him but had never watched him before. Stupefyingly irritating. I made it about as far as you did before I bailed out. I don't need to hear his views enough to put up with that.

He shut down his Youtube site comment section because he was constantly being mercislessly mocked by trolls.

Doug owned a Range Rover and has an older Defender so he has some good insights. Yes he is annoying that is his schtick but in the end he did like the Defender. As for the Defender I would have a hard time picked this thing over a Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro. At over $30-$40k cheaper it leaves a bit in the wallet to address the obvious power deficit if so desired. If heading off road the performance is probably a wash and if I am owning long term I have a pretty good idea of which one is going to give me less issues. In fact if heading off road is a priority perhaps a nice travel van towing a side by side? I don't know. I'll keep the LR4 for now.
