Hi all, I’ve just fit the Evo Corse wheels with ST Maxx in 265 65 18.

I really love those EVOs. Was hoping to get a set soon. Did you get 5 to include a spare? If so, how did the spare fitting go? Did you keep the TPMS? And, which lug nuts did you get?

I didn’t get the 5th wheel yet. I was able to transfer over the TPMS no problem. However I never thought about that I could disable with the GAP tool. Probably would have if I knew ahead of time.

The wheel nuts were confusing at first but a picture helped. I went with the DP Accessories ones in black.

One question I couldn’t seem to nail down was for tire pressure.
Anybody have any recommendations?
I have done the dual battery this week with Optima and will do rear fridge soon.
So not as weighted as would be with bull bars and all the other stuff.

I'm running my S/T Maxx in the same size and tested a number of different pressures. Ultimately settled on 50 for the road and then step down as needed (42,33,25) for dirt road, washboard, and soft sand/rock crawling. In one of the other threads, a smart person suggested actually calling Cooper and telling them the weight of your vehicle on each axle and then having them recommend the right pressure. I haven't done that yet.

Thanks, I did ring Cooper and wasn’t sure I get the exact details from them. The lady had to look through heaps of files and there wasn’t a listing for LR4 so used LR3. She said the weight they had was 7100lbs and the pressures were F-40, R-42.

Interesting, I find them a bit squishy at that number. I'll give them a go again to test it out. Thanks for making that call!!

You were right for sure. I loaded up the rear with bags for 4 people and two 16” bikes in the rear, 4 bike rack with 4 bikes, 2 adults and 2 kids a dog, and the only extra thing I have permanent is the D34 battery. First time on the highway and the night before I put the Cooper recommend pressure in.
That was a mess on the highway. At the first corners it was out of control squish. I ended up going front @ 50 and rears at 56. Eureka.
At that pressure though every bump is felt and like it’s magnified. ;(

On a side note, has anyone successfully corrected the speedo to display accurate again? I initially thought changing to 285,65%,18 on the IID tool would work, but the posts I’ve read seem to suggest change the “ Diameter from 30 to 32?
There’s mention if MSB-IPC and ABS.
Anyone know which worked and what was the data changed to?

Thanks

I'm not surprised that you had that experience with that much weight. I found 50 was good in a similar case where I had me, all the camp kit, and all the recovery tools (jack, etc.) plus water and fuel all loaded in there - probably running at about 85% of the GVWR. Trial and error! You might have even gone down to 48F/52R or something to see if that would be stable enough but also provide enough additional help to the suspension.

When I first bought mine, I ran them at 60! THAT was hard.

I'm having the same trouble getting them balanced. First 1500 miles, 0 issues, but ever since tough to get them right.

I've had balancing and allignment done with no problems. But mileage so far only slightly above yours.

So i finally got the 265/65 R18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers put on the TuffAnt MKII ET27's. Such a gnarly lookin' tire, and the rims really complement the look of the truck. I am beyond happy with the overall look.

*QUESTION!

I had them install new TPMS sensors (315/433 EZ Schrader 33520) but when I scroll through my dashboard items I have no menu available to check in on my tire pressure. Is this not available on the LR4's to see a visual representation? I could have SWORN there was an option for this, but I've never had it so I assumed I didn't have the sensors. Is it only for the warning light?

Well, I broke down and took it into the dealer thinking it would be tie rods or something more extensive and they simply balanced and rotated using the 'road force balancing' technique and the wheel shake is about 95% improved. So there's tire balancing and then there's tire balancing. [emoji6]
