That’s a lot of pumps. I’m on my 2nd. First went at 60 something.

I'm in a similar boat, according to vehicle history 1st pump was replaced by a dealer at 44k miles. Now at 121 K ( I bought car with 62k on it) and I just had that pump replaced with a GMB because I was starting to get nervous it would suddenly fail this summer on a roadtrip.

I went with a GMB from Rockauto because it was like half the price of the AB OEM pump. Reviews seemed decent.

Seems like Audi and Toyota drop nearly 20 places, while dodge (why is this separate from Ram?) gains about 30?
and mitsubishi? In order to have problems per 100 cars, you need to sell more than 100 cars. lol

About 5 years ago JD Power and Consumer Reports ranked Audi near the top. Suddenly my in-laws' Florida retirement community parking lot was filled with white and silver Q5's. Next visit it should be back to all white and silver RX350's.

Part of the problem is that there isn’t a huge difference between first and last place. It’s not like the spread is 1 problem versus 150 problems. They essentially use the small spread to extrapolate out statistically to future problems. But that aside maybe if you track the jd power back for 20 years it starts to show a trend.

Update: so I negotiated a lot with the dealer (New dealer in town and really good!) They hot a new Factory complete engine for much less than expected. And a small contribution from the Insurance company, so wound up being about the same price as buying a salvage vehicle of remanufactured engine. Around $16k out of pocket. So I went with the dealer option for warranty, and will keep long, long term. Since I have upgraded or replaced almost everything over the last 20k miles, she will now be practically new. Brakes, fuel system, evap, suspension bushings, Trans, tires, etc. And with the body and interior in such pristine condition, I figure I am essentially getting a brand new '14, for half the cost.

Drove the Defender and loved it. Will definently get one down the road. And keep the 4 for my daughter.

Engine out friday, in 5 hours, body on! Hope to have running this week.

Warning to all...REPLACE THOSE FRONT AND REAR CROSSOVERS NOW!! DONT POSTPONE. You will have NO warning and only a moment's notice before something goes horribly wrong.

Still hoping and you who has had 3.0l SCV6 will contact me

Glad you you will have resolution. Best of luck with the work and the "new" LR4.

Thanks for the photos. One doesn't usually get to see that view.

Robin, so glad to hear that you resolved it one way or another. Painful!

Also glad to hear about the Defender. I feel the same. Drive my LR4 into the ground, and then buy a used Defender in 10 years!
