My 2014 D4 now has "Graphite" Compo 18"s with 265/60X18 BFG KO 2's with the original lugnuts.
While in the U.K. I bought a set of LR locknuts which are natural steel finish, so it's not possible to
put black lugnuts on the dark gray Compo's. I reckon my vehicle looks great the way it is, even with
the original LR centers. The contrast is good. The LR locknuts were cheaper in England than here in Australia, plus they're hard to fined at LR dealers here.

Well, my Comps are just over 2 years old and I’ll tell with with 100% certainty this has nothing to do with chemicals. For one, I’ve never applied so much as a wheel cleaner to them. Just automotive soap from the same bucket after washing the rest. They’ve also never seen a spinning brush car wash...only touchless.

I do off-road the truck, And you can distinctly see the rock chips which started this mess. The worst spot was only half that size prior to me washing the truck a week ago. I could press on the spots and see water move underneath the delamination.

I have one or two quarter sized spots on other wheels too.

I definitely don’t want to be paranoid with my rims. I usually get my cars hand washed but who knows what they use to wash it with.
I want to stay away from compo but i don’t see other good options. Any idea if compo has made any improvements? Some of the posts are old on this thread.

G'day keya, My Compos are still looking superb. No issues. I only hand wash with plain soap & water.
I'm reliably told that Compo had a problem with one batch of wheels & had some with delamination.
I'm advised that the last years production has had no problem. I'll be interested to hear of anything
to the contrary.

I went with compos - only had them for a few months. i figured we’d be seeing a lot more postings if the delamination was a widespread problem, but I do think its still a risk. I like the tuffant steelies also, but the wait time was going to be too long when i was in need.

Not only are most of mine delaminating (I have 6) but two just developed pin hole cracks on the inside next to the spoke. I was informed by Barry that this is due to under/over inflation however I don’t go below 35 psi (long story). He offered me two new ones at a slight discount (which I accepted as it was the better option than replacing 6 wheels although I do like the Corsa ones). I think it’s a manufacturing defect but am not an expert. Anyone able to chime in?

Wow, that’s terrible. Is he saying its caused by underinflation to the point you’re hitting rim on rock? I’d be interested to know what Barry considers to be overinflated.

How long have you had them, and how much off roading have they seen? Not that it should matter - they are supposed to be built for it- but just curious.

I’ve had them since mid 2017. They’ve seen between 2-3 thousand off road miles. 90% or more was fire roads and nothing really technical and no rock crawling. I run 35psi off road in the rear (the affected area) and 50psi on road as I have my drawers and gear in the truck full time. Just had the tires put on the new ones. Nothing obvious on the insides of the old ones. No signs of a crack or where the tire might have impacted the area. In the last 4 years the truck has only travelled 40-45 thousand miles total.
