I recently swapped 18’ inch wheels with 265/65/18 tires onto my LR4. This 4th of July weekend I went up to Lake Arrowhead which requires you to drive up a mountain with sloped corners that you can take relatively fast even in this heavy of a car. This time however it was crowded going up the mountain so I was moving with the flow of traffic and started to feel the car doing different things and I looked down and sure enough the ESC light is blinking on about every corner. I’ve never had this issue before on the stock wheels and tires even when going much faster around the bends. I know the first solution would be to turn the ESC off but in the event where I’d need it, I’d like to have it. Has anyone else had an issue like this. I know that they kept the factory tire pressure specifications the same with the new wheels and tires, would that be part of the issue? Let me know what you guys think, thanks!

Did you move up to E - rated tires? (In which case you'd want to run higher pressures than the door jamb sticker)

Check the tire pressure (cold), regardless of what the installer told you my guess is that they may be under - or over - inflated. If they are extra load and not LT / E-load, you should stay close to Land Rover's recommended pressure numbers, perhaps a handful of PSI lower or higher depending on how light or heavy your car normally is when fully loaded.

These are 4 brand new tires that were properly spin balanced, right? The extra sidewall will flex more in high speed turns and could result in the stability control to kick in more often than with the lower profile standard tires in high speed twisties, that's to be expected and nothing you can do about it. However, DSC should not kick in at every corner, unless you are driving that mountain road like it's the Nurburgring. Something isn't right.

Does the car track straight? If tire pressure turns out to be accurate at all 4 corners, perhaps get an alignment done?

PS: I went up to Arrowhead myself a couple of weeks ago. With my whole family on board, luggage and well worn LT285/60 R18 all-terrain tires (E-rated) on bone dry pavement, my DSC briefly kicked in perhaps 4 or 5 times on the way up, with little traffic so driving at a pretty good clip.
