Same think happened to me in my 2006 LR3. Turns out the inside elbow of the passenger side drain ****** had a leak (pretty much disintegrated!) and water was flowing into floorboard and sill. This caused a connection in the sill to fail and the exact same symptoms you are seeing. Fix was to re-do the connection and bought a new hose/****** combo part and replaced only the ****** as existing hose from sunroof was fine. Everything back to normal after and did the driver's side too as a preventative measure. Good Luck!

Thanks CBN. I definitely have a leak somewhere as the carpet is wet after a rain. How did you find the bad connection? I ask because there is a HUGE bundle of wires under the door sill.

Decided to give it one last shot and took it to Westminster Motors in Toronto to see if they could get me back running. They were able to fix me up within a couple hours and I was one happy camper. Turns out it was the same as Cbn's resolution above. Water leak (undetermined what from at this point but I do definitely have a leak) had caused a connection fault in the wires under the passenger side door sill. It was the brake light switch circuit so just a repair of that was needed and all was good. That's not something I would have had the time, patience or knowledge to figure out myself.

Would highly recommend the service at Westminster if in southwestern Ontario. Now I just need to figure out if I'm going to keep the LR3....would be great as an extra vehicle to have for hockey stuff and DIY projects.

I'm an hour west of you in KW. I had this problem on the driver side and eventually was able to fix it. The problem is persisting again. I've replaced brake switches before and they never seem to be the problem. It does seem like my ride sensor is of, and has been off height for a problem.

I tell people.....you don't so much as, buy an Land Rover, but more like, take on a new hobby.

There turned out to be a lot of water in the passenger side floor. So much so, I think I saw tadpoles. My mechanic fixed it, I dried it out, the vehicle raised to normal height for a day or two, and then lowered. I may not have dried it out enough. We've had zero rain in SW Ontario since the fix, so I'm guessing it's till damp. My mechanic is replacing the tie rod ends tomorrow and asked him to look at the brake lights. One seemed a bit corroded.
