2011 V8 5.0L HSE Lux. Start the truck and low coolant warning light was on. Then I opened the hood to check (actually I’ve seen nothing wrong with fluid level by my eyes) and closed the hood. Got back and the light was gone.... I’m very confused...any advices? TIA

Just as an FYI. I had the same issue at first. Then it started coming on more often and I had to refill a few times. Then I finally noticed coolant on my garage floor and took it to my independent shop. I ended up having a leak in the rear of the engine from the coolant manifold(coolant outlet flange) it's being repaired as I write this post. Cost was $1021.

Your low coolant message can signify many different things, but it’s definitely worth replacing both front and rear crossover pipes if you haven’t done so already.

My front crossover pipe cracked while I was on the freeway without any warning. It happened a couple of days ago. I have a 2012 with 93k miles.

Sensor goes wonky. Easy to replace at bottom of reservoir.

Had a similar problem with our 4.2 supercharged. I changed the sensor and checked the strength of the coolant mixture, added more antifreeze, problem solved.

Take it in to a shop and have them test the system by pressurizing it to find a possible leak.
