Hi Guys. Well...the crossover pipe bursted while I was driving on the freeway today. I procrastinated on getting them replaced, so no one to blame but myself. I just hope the engine is OK.
Long story short...I was driving along the freeway and noticed that my AC suddenly stopped blowing cold air. I started fidgeting with the climate control and then started smelling a faint “coolant” smell. Looked at the cluster and saw the engine overheating light. Then, noticed the temperature gauge on “H”. I pulled to the right shoulder and shut off the rig. Came out and saw coolant all over the engine bay. It all happened so fast! There was, however, still some coolant left in the reservoir tank.
Now that the rig is in the shop and the intake manifold will be off, what else should I have them check / replace? Should I also replace all the hoses preemptively? Change the belts? Check the fan clutch? It’s a 2012 with 93k miles.
TIA.
