For those of you with a GAP IID tool, have you ever watched the live values for the air compressor (gallery pressure, compressor temperature, and motor temperature) as the compressor runs after starting the engine? Or, after lowering to access height and then raising to off-road height?

My shiny new compressor is no longer triggering the fault C1A20-64 (Pressure too slow filling), but the temps seem crazy high to me. Pressure takes 2+ minutes to climb to 250-255psi, and the compressor temp reaches 120-130°C. Then it turns off, and gallery pressure drops, and eventually the compressor cools. But this is awfully close to the max temps allowed per the FSM (screenshot below), and it just doesn't seem right.

If anyone has checked this before, or could take a look the next time the GAP tool is plugged in, I'd greatly appreciate some additional data!

I’ll take a look today. The ambient temperature here is about 110 so my temps may be higher then normal.

So I hit about 100°C today from a cold start.

I lowered my car, then raised it to off road height. It went to normal quickly then took about a minute or two to get all the way back to off road height.

When I have more time I’ll do more experimenting, but your temps are close to mine. Were your temps after the compressor was already running?

Got some pics, see below.

The "cold start" was with the compressor at room temperature (~35C), also note the motor is relatively cool, but the compressor head temp is high. This photo was seconds before cutoff, which was around 257psi / 125C compressor.

The "hot start" was after driving a bit and waiting ~5 minutes before adjusting height to make the compressor run again. Note the pressure is a bit lower, compressor temp a bit higher, but motor temp much higher (still plenty safe at <90C, I'm not concerned about motor temp in this example).

Hi so it’s been nearly 11 months since you replaced the compressor have you had any more faults recently I’m experiencing the same error my car is a 2015 which has only done 30k maybe the compressor has to work hard as I only use my car at weekends

I have not had any faults since replacing the compressor, HOWEVER... we have not driven the LR4 much at all this past year. Pre-COVID it would typically get driven for a couple hours per week.

I would be surprised if a 30kmi-old compressor is failing already, however it might be worth trying to replace the dessicant first. Or at least take it apart and check inside. My old one looked fine and bench-tested nearly identical to the new one, but the old was constantly causing an error, and the new one is not.

I don't think you should be too concerned about it. I have the xlifter and I watch my compressor temps on it fairly often, but its only in Celsius. Starting the truck it's typically under 60*C. Whenever I increase height, it shoots up anywhere in 90*C. When wheeling in (and in desert heat) it can get into the critical high temps of 110*C. When it get hits 120*C, that's when the system faults and shuts down the compressor to prevent it from over heating.
