There are far more tire size choices in the 20in diameter than 19, as you probably found. 275 55 20 comes to mind, that one is 31.9 Whatever size you end up with, make sure the load rating is sufficient for these heavy trucks. These tire threads are like oil threads, everyone has an opinion one way or the other. Generally i don't like rods and instead choose to mess with the heights via IID.

Appreciate the response. I still ( stubborn I guess ) would like to know what would it do on 255-65-19, I know for a fact the Toyo Open Country 255-60-19 ( I believe a tad over 31" ) do without issues in any situation ( on/off the people's path ) specially with the rods in all - no rub - no worries, but was thinking on testing the 32" the ones I mentioned are skinny 32, so not concern with the inside fitment, just wondering if it will rub at lock, and off road articulating

I've been debating those tires myself. I'm curious what the answer ends up being here.. if no one has tried them, I'm likely to just roll the dice in a month or so and I'll post my results when I do. I have the stock 19" wheels, stock ride height (no IIDTools, rods or anything else). My goal with these is the same as everyone else, just hoping to squeeze in a bit more sidewall for piece of mind.

They look to be an XL load rating, which is equivalent to stock.

More sidewall, but the sidewall won't be any stronger.

Someone just posted a pic on on the LR3/LR4 Facebook group of an LR4 with 255 65 19s fitted on the stock wheels. Tires look to be Goodyear Duratracs. The OP is claiming no rub. This means that a 32.1 effective diameter does fit. The setup looks great.

Can you post the picture here? After the LRONA group, I try to stay away from facebook automotive groups, even more than I try to stay away from facebook generally.

im about to order 255/60/19 tires for my OEM wheels.

very much leaning towards the Falken Wildpeak A/T trail tire. reviews make it sound mild enough for no additional on-road noise (which will be 95% of the time), but a strong performer for light off-roading. the added bonus that it is a snow rated tire is great for the northeast.

any opinions on this tire and sizing?

SUV tires, sidewall punctures, and off-road ability is completely new to me.

EDIT: im impatient and ordered already, lol. still welcome to reviews of this tire though.

I’ve have the Toyo Open Country ATIII in 255/60/19 for a few weeks and took them over some forest service roads in Washington and Oregon.

They’re pretty fantastic. Quiet on the highway, they track straight as an arrow and feel confident on the mild off-road trails I’ve been on . I don’t rock crawl and have no plans to. Definitely, an upgrade over my Nokia WRG3 SUV. And equally comfortable on road.

The load rating isn't inspiring. It's less than an XL, which I'd want at an absolute minimum.
