Hey guys I have watched a bunch of videos and read alot of threads and have the upper glove box liner removed. I am trying to replace the map pocket/cubby above the upper glove box (the rubber is all melted from a can of bug spray exploding in the sun) It looks like it hooks in behind the dash itself or may even be a part of the structure for the dash plastic skeleton. Has anyone removed it before or know how? I have the ac vents off either side, the glove box liner out and its pretty exposed but still looks like a long way to go unless I can figure out how the dash itself is lifted off.

Thanks I saw that one but I'm trying to replace the cubby in the dash above the upper glove box. Called my local dealer and its apparently a part of the whole dashboard and the part isnt available by itself. $1150 for the part and $3200 for installation lol

How bad is it? Maybe just stuff some electronics and add a fascia to hide it all?

Here's what I did, but could be nicer.

I'm thinking of just going to an upholsterey shop and having them make a little mat to cover the damage. I'll have to trim it down with a razor since its blistering. I ordered this off amazon to hid it some also.

That's part of the entire dash, sorry. I thought it was the inner cubby. If that happened to me, I would honestly make a permanent phone mount base attached to that section. I would use a Ram Mount X-Grip and make a base sandwich plate, where 2 pieces of 1/16th aluminum sheets are sandwiching the top and bottom of the melted plastic for support.

Ram Mounts have lots of articulating pieces that can make it work.
