So as the screw jack is basically not usable for jacking up a slightly raised LR, I removed the Styrofoam tool organizer and placed some Kaizen foam in place of it. Stored the new hydraulic jack in the small rear cubby hole at the rear quarter panel and placed two layers of 30mm foam in it. I thought I would be able to do 3 layers but that didn't work out.
These are removable so you can get to the spare tire winch. I have a few more spots for place tools and eventually maybe I will get them all in there and not have to have bags of tools all over the cab.

Eventually I will use some oak of teak wood to "Picture Frame" the border, right now I cut down a 2x4 and placed it under the hinge area for support. Right now getting ready to go camp so its a mess in there.

Another 5-seater! Awesome....

....btw, you can still use the screw jack, just slip a small piece of lumber (1x4, 2x4 maybe) between the jack's platen and the LR3's frame and you're good. You can slightly raise the LR3 all you want, when you jack it, you still have to go through the full range of the EAS regardless of rods or IIDTool settings or any of that. So that part is the same...it's oversized tires that cause one to have to jack it just a little more.

Do all 5 seat LR3's have that storage, or did you build it?
Id trade my 3rd row seats for tool storage like that!

All 5-seaters have that area, but usually there is a hard-foam insert with places to put such things as the chocks, jack, etc. What else do I have in there....can of fix-a-flat, a big flashlight, screwdriver, a pin punch, a bunch of spanners, a first aid kit and a flare. The best part about having a 5-seater though, is that I opted not to get the rear climate control. So my side cubbies don't have the jack on the psx side and don't have a bunch of HVAC stuff on the driver's side. I put an air compressor in the cubby on the driver's side...I mean a hard-mounted one with power to the battery.

I had a 5 seat LR3, loved the storage area. So literally the first thing I did when I got my LR4 is pull the third row out and build a hinged and carpeted piece of plywood to cover the new found space. Voila, storage!

Tow strap looks unused, I guess you haven't been wheeling with any Jeeps...

No Jeeps as of yet, but I have recovered a stuck Dodge Avenger with bald tires from out in Anza-Borrego. Was a real pain as it seems some manufacturers have stopped bothering to put recovery points on their cars.

Was thinking about doing the same! A few questions if you dont mind sharing:

  1. PNs on ebay examples?
  2. Was it hard to remove third row seat (any airbag connections etc)
  3. Once removed is there any cutting welding involved
  4. Are you running a full size spare or a donut spare?
  5. Does the LR4 also have the winch looking thingy to lower the spare and does that get in the of anything for the mod?
On the lid do you mind taking pictures of your hinges? How thick is the plywood used?

I found all the 5 seater rear floor parts on Craigslist for $50 so removed the third row seats from my LR3. I love having the storage and it’s better than hauling 150lbs of useless seats everywhere!
