Any brands to avoid or some better than others?

Should I stay with Genuine with this part? Called up a parts supplier and they spoke highly of Eurospare and said they currently have a contract for OEM, so though it’s aftermarket, there other components are OEM quality. Thoughts?

im confident in saying that OEM is most likely better than euroSPare.

that said, i used eurospare recently for my water pump. went in without a problem, works great so far. i purchased from fcpeuro.com and plan to use their lifetime part replacement if i need to replace it. I figure the 1.5 hours it took to install isn't terrible time wasted if it does fail.

I ended up using Beck Arnley(which is apparently a reboxer of parts) and so far so good. It's been almost a year.

I had a cheap pump last two months and 5000kms. Best to get something decent if you are going through the hassle of replacing.

I ended up going with the OEM from Atlantic British. Time will tell I guess.

I'm on my third Beck Arnley in 9 months. Last one had dried crust on every bolt where it was leaking. Poor quality control it appears. If this one craps the bed, I'll have to bite the bullet on buying another brand.

anything that requires significant labor warrants the best part possible IMHO. dont want to repeat at all costs. the big one for me is actually the rental car expense if the car goes down... i need to rent a tahoe at $65/day plus taxes. it adds up

It's weird to say "go OEM" when you know you are installing the same ****** water pump that you are taking off, but at least it's a ****** water pump with a known 60k pile pitch-count.
