Where have you sourced the Rhino hitch for the LR3 - having some difficulty finding. Also, who is the actual manufacturer as I'd like to review some specs if anyone knows?

So, I finally got my Rhino hitch. Do you guys use the hook plate? Can I go without it, since it digs into my spare?

About to pull the trigger on this myself, anyone got a lead on a used one priced more affordable or hell even local pickup in MD area?

Can you drop your spare, install hook plate, deflate spare a little and reinstall?
That's exactly what I did. I'm running 255/70r17s KO2s and that's about 31", which barely fits after fully deflating and squeezing it in.

I'm looking for either a hitch swing out arm that doesn't hit the lower tailgate or a full rear bumper with a tire carrier.

I would definitely install it per the directions and use all provided parts.

Can you line up the hook with an open tread in your tire or is it way too tight overall?

This hitch has a rather small but loyal following. I have never seen one offered on the used market. If you do find one, be aware that some of the oval washers that come with it are designed to deform as you torque them down around the cast metal portions of your Rover’s underside. I don’t know if it would be possible to source new washers easily or if they could safely be re-used.
